As the cooling rain begins, it is time to plant natives!

Inspiring environmental movies

We felt like being inspired so made a shortlist of inspiring and positive environmental movies on the internet movie database (IMDb) website: www.imdb.com/list/ls071952485.

(Our detailed list can be found here: www.imdb.com/list/ls075735345.)

Two of my own favourites are North of the sun (Nordfor sola in Norwegian, https://vimeo.com/ondemand/northofthesun) and Bag it (www.bagitmovie.com). Chasing ice is thought-provoking. The Clean bin project and Project wild thing look like fun!

Some other inspiring movies and tv programs that are not on IMDb include:

We're looking forward to Minimalism: A documentary about the important things, which will be released in 2015.
Please let us know of any environmental movies that inspire you. Stay tuned for details about our next movie night.

In other news, it is just over one year since our first Transition Town Mt Hawthorn meeting! You can email us at ttmthawthorn@gmail.com if you'd like to join our regular meetings.
